Don’t Miss Out On : ATOMICA Magazine

January has proven to be quite the exhausting (and exciting) month!

Various projects and surprise encounters have swallowed my time like a frat boy chugs booze, and I’m left wondering where I am and how I got here.

To make up for my absence, I’d like to present you with the first of my 2011 confessions: after some heavy thinking, I recently submitted a text for the premier issue of a new urban culture mag called ATOMICA.

The editor-in-chief, Kelsea Kosko, graciously decided to use the piece, and that is how I came to author my very first epilogue.

If you’d like to check out what I wrote or (more importantly) the entirety of the magazine, you’re in luck: an online version of the first issue, OMEN, is available to peruse, free of cost! A print version is also available for sale and distribution internationally.

Here’s a description and a link to the site!

OMEN is the Jan/Feb 2011 issue of Atomica. Our first-ever issue is packed with ominous editorials, fortuitous music playlists, sketchy style guides, and articles concerning the resurrection of analog photography. READ ISSUE HERE

The zine was completed by a team of amazing stylists and incredibly talented photographers, and I feel extremely honored and humbled to have my work featured next to such creative minds.

Honestly, the issue turned out fucking great. Cheers to you, Kelsea! :)

Happy reading,

Your (incredulous) Kitty

CONGRATULATIONS! I just wanted to say that when I read your writing, it’s like following Ariadne’s golden thread, because (in terms of the way you work your prose) you’re leading me along this path that I can follow, but I never know where the turns are until I get to them. Brilliant, Kitty.

      samantha, i agree.
my friends at school had plenty to say about how cleverly-written the adieu was. and let’s face it, an article has to be pretty damn good for a high school junior (s) to rave about it.

WAH! You’re like, a full blown celebrity now. Is it too soon for me to start selling fake locks of your hair?
Really, though, humor aside, this is awesome. You’re awesome.
I missed your internet presence and then BAM you come back with this. I was all set to be moody, but I can’t even anymore.
Anddddd I’m glad you think I’m funny, cause I do too and most everyone else just rolls their eyes at me.
    I WUV YOU TOOOOOOO!

I just read it! I like how you put it into words. I was just thinking last night how we may be running out of icons because this generation is failing to make its mark. I’m speaking prematurely, of course, I’m still waiting for my mind to be blown. :)

It’s beautifully written. I can’t wait for the next issue <3
